Today's Political Thought

Rudy Giuliani recently "unveiled" (sort of) a health plan proposal (sort of) and it's really perfect, insofar as a Republican presidential candidate is concerned. Given the mood of the country these days, you kind of have to have a proposal of some sort. If you don't, you look disinterested and naïve about an issue that a majority of Americans think is important and which will probably get even more important to them as time passes. But if you want to get the hardcore Republican right behind you, to say nothing of the pharmaceutical companies and insurers, you have to make sure you come up with health care ideas that don't fix anything.

I have the feeling we're going to see a lot of these.
