One of comics' most prolific authors — it would be hard to name a long-running DC or Marvel comic he didn't write at one time — has died. Gerry Conway had been ill for the last few years and had even billed a recent bookstore appearance as his last ever. So it's not a surprise but it is sad. He was a good writer, a good guy and a good friend. I wish I had time today to write a long piece about him but I'm sure there will be plenty online within a few hours.
