I have a busy day today so the next (and probably final) part of the Laff-a-Lympics article may be delayed…but not for long. I'm as eager to see how it ends as some of you may be.
One of the things I'm doing is prepping for Comic-Con International which commences 48 days from now. That's right: I said/typed 48 days. I will be there and, as of this moment, I will either be moderating or appearing on eighteen panels. That's down from the record which I set last year of nineteen panels. It's too early to announce them but I'll tell you that most of them are the same panels I do every year and that they're in the same rooms at the same hours on the same days.
Also, since I keep getting e-mails asking me this: No, Sergio Aragonés will not be in attendance at Comic-Con this year. His health is great. He just isn't traveling at the moment.
Lots of folks are bothered — and rightly so — about how CBS News looks like it's going all Sean Hannity on us. And that bothers me too but the other night, I saw a segment about the 2026 Disney Legends on the ABC Evening News which was way more infomercial than news. That bothers me, too. (But congratulations, Eric!)
As some of you may know, not that most of you would care, I gave up desserts and sugary stuff more than a decade ago. It was easier than I would have imagined because my sweet tooth — my cravings for cake, ice cream, candy, pie, stuff like that — went away. Didn't eat 'em, didn't miss 'em. And it's one of the reasons I now weigh about a hundred and twenty pounds less than I did then. But recently, one of my doctors made a recommendation…and I should emphasize that this was for my personal health. It absolutely may not apply to you and your personal health.
He said I should find one sweet thing of under 200 calories to consume each day, perhaps at bedtime. I can't explain why he felt this would be good for me but he felt it would be good for me. So I looked around and found these…

These are KozyShack brand tapioca pudding cups. Most markets seem to carry them and one of these pudding cups will give you about four spoonfuls of quite delicious tapioca pudding for a total of 120 calories. That's assuming they are, like certain fine wines need to be, properly chilled.
They also have a rice pudding version which I haven't tried because — and don't argue with me about this — tapioca pudding is oh so much better than rice pudding. I also tried a couple of other brands of tapioca pudding cups and they were all yucchy and disappointing.
These will probably have zero medicinal value to you and your endocrine system but you might enjoy them as a means of having "dessert" without consuming some staggering calorie count. I also mention this because I think I'm very fortunate to have a doctor who prescribes tapioca pudding. Sort of.
