Wednesday Evening

Still pretty busy. But I wanted to point you to a new Fred Kaplan column which says Trump wants a list of every undercover spy-type operative. This, for reason Fred explains, is a pretty terrible and dangerous idea. An excerpt…

The dangers of such a list existing should be obvious. Foreign intelligence agencies, notably Russia and China, would likely pay billions of dollars for such a list. They would certainly hunt valiantly for some American official who has access to the list and enough need or greed to sell it to them for mere millions.

I don't think they'd have to "hunt valiantly." I think they'd just have to offer Trump or his sons any amount of money that ends with "illion."

To the shock 'n' surprise of absolutely no one, I have been announced as a Special Guest at Comic-Con International in a few weeks. One of the things that sets Comic-Con apart from the (seemingly) hundreds of thousands of such gatherings is this: Other conventions book Big Name Celebs and Creators to try and lure the crowds in. Comic-Con just lists people they think deserve the honor. I suppose any con can do this when they sell out in forty-five minutes of putting tickets on sale.
